I learn a lot from YouTube, and I wanted a fast way to take notes with screenshots — then review them later, search what I had learned, or ask something specific without starting from scratch.
So I built ScribeShot: a Mac workspace where each video becomes durable files, and the saved library becomes something you can retrieve from and practice.
Your notes, transcripts, screenshots and learning artifacts live in folders you control, and supported AI inference runs locally on the model you select.
One ScribeShot license rather than a monthly app subscription. Local models have no per-request API charge.

Your notes and screenshots are written as ordinary Markdown and image files in a folder you choose. Open them in Obsidian or any editor, back them up with the tools you already use, and keep the underlying files even if you stop updating ScribeShot.

No. ScribeShot currently runs supported AI work locally on your Mac. Gemma 4 E2B is the lighter option, Gemma 4 E4B is the default, and Qwen3-VL 8B is available for higher-quality local vision, OCR and reasoning.
